“Mzansi” in Xhosa language slang means “the South”, as in “Southern Africa”.
This blog is about personal finance from a Southern African perspective.
My name is Kevin. I have been interested in Personal Finance for many years now and am in the process of studying towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations, to be able to help people here in Mzansi to move away from debt and become financially free.
I would like this blog to be a personal finance community, where we can all share tips and tricks about common sense things to do with our money and share with each other our goals and dreams in getting to financial freedom for ourselves and our families.
I enjoy researching financial and lifestyle topics and will post interesting articles and perspectives here on mzansifinance.com.
I am currently based in Johannesburg, but have spent quite some time abroad. I hope to be able to travel to other exotic locales again soon. I am an avid sports fan, so you may see quite a few tweets about sports (@mzansifinance).
Please note: I do not know your complete financial picture, so cannot judge whether any product or strategy will be the right one for you. Please consult your own financial adviser before acting on anything that is written on this blog. My intention is for everything written here to be for informational purposes only. I would like to give you some background to allow you to make your own informed choices. I also do not provide loans of any kind.
Remember to be careful out there: No-one cares as much about your money as you do!
